For me, True Religion jeans were made famous by the Black Eyed Peas in 2005, when they sang “My Humps” …
“Seven jeans, true religion’s, so I keep on takin’ and no I aint taken, we can keep on datin’ …” are you singing it yet?
Handmade in America, True Religion has around 900 branded ’boutiques’ and specialty stores in 50 countries on six continents. The ‘flagship’ store is located in California, and was their first retail store, opening in late 2005. True Religion jeans distinguished themselves from all the others by simply putting two horseshoes on the back pockets, with the distinctive white stitching.
The official launch of the first-ever True Religion store, on June 5th, had SA’s fashionistas and elite decend on Sandton City, the hub of Jo’burgs shopping haven.
Custodians of luxurious brands in South Africa for more than 50 years, the Surtee Group also launched the new look Grays and Boss Stores.
The décor was set to perfection as guests embarked on a journey to the ‘Fashion district’, ‘Boss Lane’ and ‘True Religion Street’.
A decadent tea table was elegantly designed and complemented the brands über-chic stores.
The feeling of entering a new world while thinking ooh… ‘I need to own it’, was made possible when guests received a 20% discount at each of the premium stores, including the new brand to the stable – True Religion.
The Surtee Group has become well known for their exclusive brands. In their Grays stores they offer Ermenegildo Zegna, Brioni, Canali, Etienne Aigner, Façonnable, Stefano Ricci, Surtee Collection, GrosVenor and Raffaele Caruso. The Group also offers luxury brands Hugo Boss, Dunhill, Mont Blanc, Timberland, Hackett and Mama’s & Papa’s.
