Located in Al Murooj Rotana (Dubai), Pergolas literally translates from Spanish into a “wooden frame in a garden for growing plants used for sitting or walking under”. Exactly what you would find when dining at the terrace overlooking the Al Murooj grand architecture.
I was invited to sample the buffet menu and opted for the Friday (family) Brunch which allowed me to still spend the weekend with my better half and toddler.
When I arrived I was faced with a busy crowd but soon realised that their was a family event taking place. This was the perfect setting to host a birthday or engagement party. You can immediately feel the warm atmosphere and the welcoming of family members. It felt like I was part of a very elaborate function which I didn’t mind. The service was still great.
The buffet is extensive and boasts cuisines from all over the world. The live cooking stations lets you watch the chefs prepare your meal to your liking. Then, there’s the decadent dessert buffet which I couldn’t get enough of. From the chocolate fondue fountain to Indian sweet meats, you are most certainly in for a treat. Spoilt for choice, I tried a little bit of everything. My favourite was the Manakish (Arabic) which is similar to a pizza topped with cheese, you can opt for the spicy flavours too which is divine.
The Kids Corner includes specially selected treats for the little ones although the music can get very loud so I wouldn’t suggest leaving your toddler. The treats are designed especially to suit the young palettes (see pics below).
My overall experience was wonderful with an awesome atmosphere, great food, delicious desserts and stunning views.
A special thank you to the team at Al Murooj Rotana and Pergolas for having me.
